Like other metropolitan areas,
Albuquerque
has a number of public libraries with extensive collections. However, within the entire state of
New Mexico
there is only one library that has cultivated a representative selection of theological, pastoral, liturgical, and spiritual texts. The
Library-Spiritual
Learning
Center
is an especially vital resource for the students and faculty of the
St.
Norbert College Master of Theological Studies program, the only program of its kind in the state. The center also serves the needs of the Norbertine Community, our retreatants, and the adult learners of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, including the interfaith community. This unique library attracts visitors from around the state and, like a magnet, draws wisdom-seekers into dynamic dialogue and action. The
Norbertine
Library-Spiritual
Learning
Center
helps our community extend our educational and spiritual reach.
The
Library-Spiritual
Learning
Center
contains a reception area, an office, three spiritual direction and counseling rooms, a seminar room, and community archives. The library enables us to manage 25,000 volumes, with internet capability of networking with other libraries.
The library has the following major focus areas:
- Basic Reference Resources in Scripture and Theology
- Sacred Scripture
- Theology (particularly pastoral theology and liturgy)
- Spirituality and Prayer
- Liturgical, homiletic and Sacramental Resources
- Norbertine Order Archives
Minor focus areas include:
- Psychology
