The Norbertine Spirituality Center at Santa María de la Vid Abbey extends hospitality to those desiring a peaceful retreat environment in the beautiful high desert of New Mexico. Our comfortable meeting spaces are available for groups to be on retreat at the abbey.
We invite you to enjoy our walking paths, desert chapel, Norbertine Library, and participate in Morning and Evening Prayer, and daily Eucharist with the Norbertine Community.
Our 70-acre property, at 5300 feet elevation on Albuquerque’s southwest mesa, is long considered holy ground with wonderful views of the Rio Grande Valley and Sandia Mountain. The abbey is a place where people of diverse faith traditions have come for decades to pray and experience the pristine beauty and solitude of the southwestern desert.

Group Day Retreats

Groups are invited to hold day retreats in the Abbey's contemplative environment.
Our facilities include:
- Our Lady of Guadalupe Commons:
- Rio Grande Room – seats up to 40
- Manzano Room – seats up to 100
- Sandia Room – seats up to 160
- Each room offers:
- Audio and Visual system
- Wi-Fi

Reservations are being accepted for 2025 and 2026. The 2027 calendar is not open at this time.
